DIY Washi Tape Corkboard

Hi, I'm Jenn Kirk from the blog Ambrosia Creative. I'm a graphic designer, crafter, and mother to two boys and a new baby girl and this is a simple DIY project that I just love.  With just a few supplies, you can easily create a graphic-patterned corkboard for your workspace in just 20 minutes or less.

Materials:

4-pack of corkboard tiles (mine are 12" square)
Roll of Japanese washi tape in color of your choice (here is a great DFM washi roundup)
Roll of 1" masking tape & Scissors

Step 1: Lay down a strip of washi tape along the diagonal of the tile. Make sure to smooth and press the tape down firmly into the cork. The ends should be about an inch long, or long enough to wrap around the back.

Step 2: Lay down a strip of 1" masking tape flush against the washi tape. This is for even spacing between the washi tape stripes. Next to the masking tape strip, lay down a second strip of washi tape. Next, peel off the masking tape (you can reuse this piece as your 'spacer'), and create a new row. Repeat until entire tile is covered with diagonal stripes of washi tape.

Step 3: Repeat process with remaining three tiles.

Step 4: Hang tiles! Because of the symmetrical nature of the stripes, you can get a few different
configurations out of the tiles. And an advantage of the washi tape is that it's not permanent, so you can easily change the color out.
