Splatter Platter
Hello, hello! Lexy from The Proper Pinwheel here. I'm always looking for new ways to serve treats at parties, but serveware can be a bit expensive at times. It's very easy to customize dishes to your specific color scheme. I used a simple white platter plate from Target and transformed it by splattering porcelain paint all over it! It was very easy to do and the best part is that you can't mess it up! Win-win.

- White serveware
- Porcelain paint
- Porcelain paint thinner
- Disposable plate
- Wooden stick (for mixing paint)
- Toothbrush

Mix a little paint with paint thinner and stir it up nice and good. Dip your toothbrush in the paint and use your finger to splatter the paint. Do this over a well-covered surface or outside so that you don't get paint everywhere.

Mix around with colors. I used coral and then layered it with a little gold. Make sure your first layer is dry before you add the second. Let your paint dry for 24 hours and then bake it according to the paint package instructions. I baked mine for 30 minutes at 300 degrees F.

Don't confine yourself to just a platter. Splatter some plates while you're at it. Matching sets are so much fun.

Show off your new serveware at your next party. Your splatter platter will be a hit!
