Welcome to the Jungalow

Hi, it's Justina Blakeney here. My signature style is 'Jungalow' -- jungle-inspired spaces that bring the outdoors, in.  I love the idea of creating a mini-jungalow for a nursery.  So in addition to adding plants and making sure there's plenty of fresh air in the room, here are some Jungalow-inspired finds especially for your little wild thangs.

These animal wall-hooks are so much fun. I would love to line four or five of them all in a row to hang diaper bags and other small accessories.

There is nothing like wallpaper to transform a space. These two choices from Design Your Wall are so much fun. The Blue lagoon mural would make such a statement, that you'd just have to add a couple of plants and maybe a swinging monkey mobile to make the nursery look jungaliscious. The Faux Bois paper is more modern and understated, but would also make an adorable backdrop for a nature-inspired space.

Don't you love how House36 uses cute animal details to bring a playful feel to their nursery? Ya, I know Giraffes don't live in the jungle--but how can anyone resist this giant giraffe stuffy?

Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My! Don't let the cuteness kill ya! These screen-printed organic cushions by Sass and Peril are like stuffed animals-meet cushions and I can't get enough of their retro feel.

Dress the part. Hook up your l'il monkey with a sweater from toto knits! (I got the little lion for my soon-to-arrive Leo.) The sweaters are ethically made in Kenya, using soft organic cotton from Uganda, spun in Nairobi--all using bio friendly dyes. The adorable sweaters will instantly transform your little one into a baby animal that explores enchanted forests and magical jungalows!

And speaking of baby animals...why not populate your little jungalow with animal photos of the baby variety? The baby animal portraits from the Animal Print Shop would make an insanely sweet gallery wall.

And what about this little jungarug? Don't you feel like every well-respected jungalow ought to have some cushy flooring for the jungalow floor? This sweet rug will provide a soft landing for all of the baby animals learning to walk for the first time.

Who doesn't love elephants? So, they don't really live in jungles, but heck, our jungalow is kind of a magical one anyways, right? I love these functional elephantastic accessories from tottini. This wall easel is something I would have LOVED as child, and my mother would have loved me drawing on it--as opposed to the wall. The bamboo clock by Decoylab is as sweet as it is modern, and the 3D elephant puzzle seems a perfect way improve motor skills.

These Twoolies are just the kind of quirky, playful, handmade toy every jungalow needs.

While your little one will ultimately be the king or queen of the jungalow, how could I resist this lion decal? Placed on the wall next to the crib the lion guards your chickadee as they sleep. It's just too sweet.
